Start the New Year out right with a healthier you! Regional Health Services of Howard County offers several exercise rehabilitation programs including Cardiac Rehab and SET for PAD (Supervised Exercise Therapy for Peripheral Artery Disease). These programs not only offer exercise in a supervised environment, but also educational opportunities and support for people after specific health events.

A few of our patients were given the opportunity to share about their experiences with both Cardiac Rehab and SET for PAD. . .

Ward Kowalke shared, “It energizes me for the full day.” “Make (exercise) a habit and include it in your routine,” advised Kowalke.

When asked what he specifically enjoys about Cardiac Rehab, Duane Omar responded,” Abby, our (nurse), I feel really cares about our progress.” “We are not all the same, we have different capabilities, and we are treated as individuals,” states Omar.

For those on the fence about expressing interest in our Cardiac or PAD SET program, Anthony (Tony) Roberts encourages, “just do it.”

Patients that could benefit from Cardiac Rehab include those with the following diagnoses:

  • Stable Angina
  • Heart Attack
  • Bypass Surgery
