The Computed Tomography (CT) Scanner is a special x-ray machine that uses computer techniques to produce images of your body. The CT scanner is shaped like a donut so as you lie on the table, multiple images are being taken of your body from various angles. Some scans require intravenous contrast solutions to better visualize the vessels and structures of the body part being imaged.

RHSHC provides faster, safer, and more convenient CT scans with a Siemens Somatom Perspective 128-slice CT system.  Benefits include:

  • Improved technology reduces unnecessary radiation;
  • Detailed images aid physicians in making a more confident diagnosis;
  • Faster, more convenient exams that are close to home.
