Aging brings many joys: grandchildren, more free time in retirement, and wisdom gained over the decades. But at the same time, our older years can also bring the loss of loved ones, stresses of age-related health concerns, or diminished self-esteem. Regional Health Services of Howard County is offering a new program with a focus on seniors. Senior Life Solutions assists older adults in developing life skills that help them cope with the challenges of aging.

SHIIP is a program through the State of Iowa, which is staffed by trained volunteers, that provides free informational materials, as well as one-to-one assistance with:
- Medicare coverage
- Medicare supplement insurance
- Medicare Part D assistance and enrollment (prescription insurance)
- Long-term care insurance
- Medicare and insurance claims
- Other related issues
